SAGAING DIVISION – As of November 17, S&C fire disaster education support team and donors have rebuilt up to 1,000 homes for war refugees in Sagaing that were destroyed by terrorist junta arson.
“About 1 year ago, junta forces burnt down civilian houses everywhere in the Anyar (Central Myanmar region). Many people affected by the fire and war were in a helpless situation. When the people who had no place to sleep were facing the harsh climate, the S&C fire and war education support team started building houses to help them in the most effective way. The people in need of a house were systematically selected from various areas. The houses were built by the ground crews themselves with bamboo and palm trees at the cheapest cost,” said Mr. Soe Moe Aung, in charge of the S&C Fire and War Education Assistance Group.
When the construction has started, they set a target of 100 houses to build as many houses as possible, but thanks to the support of local and foreign donors, they were able to donate up to 1,000 houses.
