SAGAING DIVISION – The weather is getting cold in Sagaing and many IDPs are getting sick. So, warm clothes, blankets, and shelters are needed, said a local source.
From mid-December to the beginning of January, it was getting colder in Sagaing, and the war refugees in the region were suffering from colds and illnesses, said the volunteers helping the IDPs.
“More than a hundred people needed to get treated (for flu) a week,” said an official from the S&C Fire and War Victims and Education Assistance Group helping IDPs in Shwebo District.
An official from Khin U Township True News team said that blankets and warm clothes are urgently needed for those fleeing the war as they are taking shelter in jungle areas.
The waterproof canvas is necessary to use in temporary tents, according to those helping the IDPs in the region.
There are hundreds of thousands of displaced people in Sagaing who are fleeing the war depending on the military council’s raids.
