SAGAING DIVISION – Locals reported that terrorist junta army bombarded Padu Village using fighter jet and MI35 helicopter.
Junta air force reportedly shelled the mentioned village on May 22 at about 1 p.m. without having any battle.
“There was an intense fighting the other day, but no fighting occurred today. I heard that 2 fighter planes came and fired at Padu village. I haven’t known how much it was damaged. Junta thugs retreated a day ago and now made an air strike. Some villagers fled war since the first day but some have gone back home. I do not know whether civilians were injured or not,” said a local resident.
There were three fierce battles occurred on May 21 between People’s Defence Forces against fascist soldiers of 100 forces in strength from junta’s Sagaing battalion 33, heading toward Padu Village. The attack was occurred at around 11 a.m. which resulted many casualties from junta side.
Padu village is a village with about 1,300 houses. Due to the fightings, thousands of people from villages in the northern part of Sagaing township, including Padu Village, Saryay East Village, Saryay West Village, Kyauk Panan Village, Kangyi Gone Village, Ywathit, Padu, Khetkha East and West Villages have fled to safety.
