SOUTHERN SHAN STATE – Inlay People Defense Force (IPDF) issued a statement on May 27, saying that despite participating in the battles in the Shan-Karenni border, Pinlaung township, and Pekon township, they didn’t announce the battle news because of security reasons.
IPDF didn’t issue the battle news, despite fighting against the junta council in the battles in Namnein village and Lae Hwe village, on the Pinlaung – Pekon border, by collaborating with the alliance forces. It was because of the network issues and to prevent the junta council’s espionage.
It was also stated in the statement that the company commander of IPDF was severely injured and lost his right eye. He was not in a life-threatening condition, at the moment.
The battles between the combination of junta council forces and Pa-O National Organization (PNO) Pyi Thu Sit militias and the alliance of Karenni revolutionary forces and the local revolutionary forces in the Pinlaung – Pekon region have been intense for more than three months.
A PDF comrade who is participating in the battles mentioned that the battles are still intense in Mobye township, and the junta council launched aerial bombardments on May 27.
