MYANMAR – Local commander of Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade (1) of the Karen National Union (KNU) said that the Junta’s Army is using machines to destroy roads in Thaton Township and Kyaikto Township of Mon State.
It is said that the Junta’s army vandalized the road near the Junta camp in the Wiyo area, Thaton township yesterday evening. In addition, a commander of the KNLA Brigade (1) said that the Military Council used machinery to destroy the village-to-village and district-to-district roads in Kyaikto Township.
The Junta’s army destroyed the village chain road in Hsaung Nainggyi, Win Ka Lao District district to district chain road, Meiyonlay village chain road, the Hlegu road, and Kali roads.
“Their purpose is to prepare for the stationary defense in case the revolutionary forces use their vehicles to attack,” said the KNLA commander.
In the KNU Brigade (6th) Kawkareik area, the Junta’s Council troops are also destroying such roads. A Kawkareik resident said that it shows that the military council does not have the power to go on the offensive, as is cutting off supplies and traffic.
The KNLA commander said that the Junta Council’s own destruction of the communication channels meant that the KNU-controlled areas no longer had the strength to offensive and set up a defensive position. “No matter what to say, we on this side will continue to do what we have to do,” said the KNLA commander.
Karen State KNU and the People’s Defense Forces (PDF), the military council troops in the KNU-administered areas of Mon State, Bago Division, and Taninthayi Division, there were thousands of battles that took place as the revolutionary forces fought together.
