BAGO DIVISION – The villages in Taungoo District, at the east of Phyu Township have been fleeing since the junta army is firing heavy weapons towards the villages and they can no longer stay at home, locals reported.
The terrorist army have been shelling heavy artilleries after a clash occurred between Defense Forces against light battalion (439) stationing at Phayalahar Village on June 10. It has been already three days that the junta army firing 80mm, 40mm motors towards the villages since June 10.
“At around 5 a.m., the junta thugs advanced after firing about 20 heavy weapons. The most weapons fell into Nga Myit Chin Village, and two fell in the Ywa Ma Gyi Village. Now the villagers dare not stay at home anymore, so they have to leave their villages and flee to the forest,” said a villager from Ywa Ma Gyi Village.
Almost 5000 civilians from villages such as Nga Myit Chin, Ywa Ma Gyi, Thinbaw Kyun, Pazun Myaung, Zeekon have been fleeing urgently. Some of them received help from KNU (Karen National union), but some have not yet received the support.
At present, almost 1000 households are in need of help since there are 400 households in Ywa Ma Gyi Village, 286 in Nga Myit Chin, 60 in Thinbaw Kyun, 60 in Pazun Myaung and 100 households in Zeekon villages.
Last June 10, at around 10 a.m., intense fighting broke out between Phyu Township Defence Organization, and Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) allied forces against military council troops resulted four junta thugs were killed and 4 others, including 2 officers, were injured.
