MYANMAR – The junta council tightened security for the 76th Independence Day Ceremony on January 4, 2024, fearing a possible bombing attack.
The junta council secretly sent 11 instructions to the Divisions and States of the fascist council:
- Not to carry cigarettes and lighters
- Not to carry a betel box or betel packs
- Must wear the recognized card
- Those with a phone pass can carry a phone, and if not, phones will not be allowed
- Car passes must be placed at the front mirror
- Except for those with permissions, others couldn’t record photos or videos
- Those who attend must not carry bags
- Health-related items must only be carried in transparent bags
- Attendees must stay at the end of the ceremony and must inform junta members if someone has a health issue
- Must be checked by X-ray and Walk Through, and those with heart disease should inform junta members
- Attendees must only go to permitted areas and must not go to restricted areas.
The junta council also instructed fixing drone jammers at the ceremony place and tightening up security around a three-mile radius of the venue.
