KACHIN STATE- It has been reported that junta troops fired heavy weapons to Aungtharyar ward, Hmawsisar village, Hpakant Township on September 19 at about 11:30 a.m.
A 28-year-old woman living in Hmawsisar village said that junta troop fired heavy weapons about eight times towards a jade company near Hmawsisar village.
She said, “At first I only heard the sound of firing heavy weapon and then they fired continuously. I also heard the gun shot sound. They are firing due to Kyauk Hmyaw Tike.”
Kyauk Hmyaw Tike is a method to find jades by using water pipes and spraying water into piles of land, mountain cliff and gully.
After firing heavy weapons, junta troops patrolled with cars and investigated inside company, said over 40-year-old local man from Hmawsisar village.
He added, “Junta forces checked inside the company. We had closed shops and schools because of heavy weapons firing. I don’t know what are they checking.”
The casualties due to junta’s heavy weapons firing was not yet known.
Last May 4, junta troops abducted and investigated employees of Ko Kyaw Naing company, Hmawsisar village, Hpakant Township.
