RAKHINE STATE – A resident of Minbya Town reportedly stepped on the mine set up by junta troops on the morning of December 15 and the explosion amputated the legs.
The victim was Mr. Kyaw Maung (38) from Old market Ward of Khawarthe lane.
It was about 11:50 a.m. and Mr. Kyaw Maung was on his way back home from his in-laws house when he stepped on a mine near the drinking water pond at the west of Minbya Myoma police station, said the local witnesses.
Mr. Kyaw Maung’s right leg was cut off from the knee joint and his left leg was seriously injured by the mine explosion.
He was sent to Minbya Hospital to undergo an emergency surgery and his left leg was also amputated there.
