MAGWAY DIVISION – The Youth Force – Saw & Kyaukhtu of Gangaw Battalion – 13 warned the public not to use the Saw-Kyaukhtu Road in Saw Township starting from Thursday morning (July 13) due to military tension.
The statement emphasizes that individuals using this road without informing the respective battalions will bear responsibility for any ensuing problems.
“I received information that junta soldiers from the artillery force in Kyaukhtu have arrived in Saw as an infantry column. They were preparing to launch an offensive yesterday and are now departing. They will travel through the jungle route, while the column from Saw will also depart. They will reach Kyindwin by passing through Laung Shay,” said an official.
The junta convoy from Laung Shay may be resupplying, while another convoy from Kyaukhtu might be carrying out a clearance operation.
Thirteen junta vehicles destined for Pauk have not yet departed from Kyaukhtu and are still stationed there. “We have received reports of heavy artillery shell launches around 20 times,” stated a PDF official.
