RAKHINE STATE – AA’s Humanitarian and Development Cooperation Office (HDCO) reported on May 13th that about 7,000 Rohingya from Butheetaung have fled into AA-controlled areas as a result of the military council’s attacks.
On May 8th, the AA issued a statement saying that due to the attacks with heavy weapons and jet fighter shootings, about 7,000 Rohingya people from the villages of Butheetaung township including Kakya Bak, Kakya Bak Kanpyin, Myaung Nar, Alae Chaung, Bagon Nar and Lett Thar have taken shelter in the controlled area of the AA Army. AA helps resettle those who have taken refuge in their area and protection has been done.
AA’s HDCO office reported that some Muslims from these villages had joined the 8th Battalion of the Butheetaung township, which was controlled by the Terrorist War Council.
