KARENNI STATE – Karenni Army (KA) Battalion 5 released on July 30, a video of them capturing the junta council’s 120 mm artillery shells storage during the battles in Karenni(Kayah) State.
Karenni Army Battalion 5 described the shells as the most valuable among the captured ammunition, feared by the junta regime and never seized before by any EAO (Ethnic Armed Organizations).
The location of the junta camp which was seized was not mentioned in the statement of KA Battalion 5.
The Karenni military source said that it was the two 120 mm mortars and ammunition storage captured during the Maesae battle, according to video. “KA Battalion 5 is the main active column in that area. The location in that video file is almost certain to be there,” explained the source.
Although there are a lot of battles at Maesae, Hpasawng and Ywarthit Township everday, the related forces have not announced the detailed information.
A responsible person from KNDF said, “We are still working. We are working to achieve our goals and to maintain what we managed to capture. We are still facing them in battles. We are attacking as united forces in Hpasawng and Maesae. That’s why we would like to show only the final result.”
The junta regime reinforced its troops in Karenni State with at least 10 Shan based battalion after Karenni United Forces had taken control of Maesae Township in the second week of June.
Karenni Revolutionary Forces said that more than six junta battalions under division 44, 55 and 66 invaded into Hpasawng and Ywarthit Townships.
