SAGAING DIVISION – Three local men who were fleeing in Ywar Pyin Taw Tike due to the junta column’s offensive attack in Innlegyi Village, Kanbalu Township, were abducted by the junta soldiers at about 12:00 p.m. on Friday (October 6), according to the locals.
The junta force that was stationed at the electric power control office in Ngat Pyaw Tine Village reportedly abducted Mr. Paing Thet Kyaw, Mr. Tar Win and Mr. Kyauk Sein Oo from Ywar Pyin Taw Tike, on their way to Innlegyi Village which is 6 miles away from Ngat Pyaw Tine Village.
“The villagers were fleeing to Ywar Pyin Taw Tike, assuming that the junta column might raid Innlegyi Village. Some also fled to other places. But the junta column didn’t enter the village and went to Ywar Pyin Taw Tike then abducted three of them,” said a local resident.
The junta column had reportedly gone back to the station after all this and so the locals have also returned to their village.
“As far as I’m concerned, the three abductees were taken to the junta battalion #6006 then released after some time. But they were again abducted by the junta-backed militia (Pyu saw htee) from the village,” he added.
There are still some junta soldiers left in the Ngat Pyaw Tine electric power control office and it has been ten days since they started stationing.
In addition, nearly 70 houses from Innlegyi Village were burnt down to ashes and a 35-year-old man was shot to death while 67-year-old Mr. Htay Maung was burnt to death by the soldiers of the junta column from light infantry battalion #137 based in Koe Taung Bo on April 3.
