KARENNI STATE- The revolutionary forces in Southern Shan State said that the junta troops are trying to arrest the Karenni PDFs using a PDF they arrested at the raid on the PDF camp in Kyaukpachote Village, Tharsi Township.
Firefights have been going on since early May in Kyaukpachote Village and a PDF base camp was reportedly raided by the junta and its militia Pyu Saw Htee members on May 26 around 2 p.m. The junta troops seized the camp, and PDF member Japan Gyi was reportedly captured.
“We were not aware of him being detained when he talked to us on Facebook Messenger that he was in a tight spot living at Kyaukpachote as the junta troops were doing missions in the area and he wished to join us in Karenni State. He requested that we arrange a safe transportation route for him. We saw his detention news the next day (on a telegram channel), and only then we realized some junta troops have been planning to arrest us, using him,” said Comrade Nay Oo from one of the revolutionary forces in Southern Shan State.
Comrade Japan Gyi used to contact the revolutionary forces in Kareni before his camp at the Ywarngan-Tharsi Town border was raided by junta troops. After his arrest, the junta soldiers used his mobile phone to as him and asked for assistance from the Southern-Shan Revolutionary Forces in Karenni State.
It has been written on the junta propaganda telegraph channel that weapons and ammunition were seized together with Comrade Japan Gyi, who will be prosecuted under the terrorism law.
