MYANMAR – The junta council’s military coup has invalidated the NCA (Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement) and there is no longer a need for KNU (Karen National Union) to comply with it, stated KNU General Secretary Padoh Ta Doh Moo.
The General Secretary said this in reply to questions by journalists at the press conference for 100 days of the new KNU Central Executive Committee.
Padoh Ta Doh Moo explained that by staging the military coup, the terrorist junta council violated the principles of NCA Chapter 1, invalidating the agreement, but the junta council continues to ignore that point and acts as if the NCA is still valid to trick the public and the international community.
“It is no longer necessary to follow the NCA because chapter 1 of the NCA, its very own heart, was stepped on and destroyed by the junta council. The first chapter of the NCA is its heart and blood. Since it has been destroyed, NCA no longer exists. Therefore, using the NCA to play tricks on the international community, on the people has nothing to do with us,” said the KNU General Secretary.
