MANDALAY DIVISION-In Myingyan Township, the military junta troop entered Magyisu Village, burned down one house, looted valuable properties, and abducted more than 20 residents as human shields, according to People’s Defense Team of Myingyan Township.
On September 20, around 1:00 p.m., more than 20 members of the military junta troop entered the village, forced women and the elderly to sit in the village and set fire to one house.
“When the junta troops enter the village, those who could run were fleeing. The junta troop gathered those who couldn’t run in the village and took away valuable gold and money. They also ransacked the houses,” said an official.
He said that a house was destroyed by the military junta troop, after that, gold, money and valuable properties were taken from the residents’ homes.
The military council column left the village at past 2:00 p.m. When they left the village, more than 20 including adults and children were reportedly abducted.
When the military junta troop entered the village, about 400 residents were fleeing to safety, and when the column left, the residents had already returned to the village.
On May 24, the village was destroyed by a military junta column and more than 60 houses were burned down. A 60-year-old woman, Ms. Aye Kyaing was burnt alive.
