BAGO DIVISION – KNU (Karen National Union) central issued on March 9 saying that due to the junta heavy weapons and drone attacks, five civilians were killed in Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Division.
At around 8:45 a.m. on March 8, the junta council troops stationed at Kwinchaungwa including the junta council troops from Light Infantry Battalion 439 fired nine rounds of heavy weapons towards Ohnpinsu, Yintaikkone, Nganwarseik, Yayle and Ah Nyar Su Villages. Two out of the nine shells landed in Yayle Village.
Due to the heavy weapon shellings, 39-year-old Ms. Ei Ei, 59-year-old Tee Maung Chit, 24-year-old Ms. Naw Nwe Phaw and 32-year-old Mr. Saw Kapaw Htoo were said to have been injured in their hands and legs.
Similarly, as the fascist junta council troops dropped four bombs over Yintaikkone Village using drones at around 9 a.m., 73-year-old Mr. Saw Tat Sein was injured in his head and six houses were damaged.
On March 4, the atrocious junta council troops fired heavy weapons towards Mayansein Village. The heavy weapon shelling landed over the village and an old man was said to have been killed and one civilian was injured.
Starting from the first week of March, as a unit of 200 junta council troops have been conducting offensive attacks, the civilians from 18 villages including Ohnpinsu, Nganwarseik, Ah Nyar Su, Mayansein and Naungkone Villages, have been forced to flee.
