BAGO DIVISION – Junta heavy artillery injured a young man and his grandmother at Peinaepin Village in Yedashay Township around 7 a.m. on August 30, locals reported.
65 year old Ms. Khin Hla and her 17 year old grandson Aung Paing, residents of Peinaepin Village, were in the fields near the village when the shell landed and exploded beside them, injuring Ms. Khin Hla below her right knee and Mr. Aung Paing on his left leg.
“The shelling was unprovoked. It is not clear which junta base fired that. The injury is not serious, as they were only hit by shrapnel,” said a resident.
The two injured were reportedly sent to Yedashay General Hospital by local people.
Recent junta shellings on August 29 afternoon had killed two including a child and injured three at Pyinyegyi Village in Nyaunglebin Township.
