RAKHINE STATE – The terrorist junta army fired heavy artillery shells in Sittwe Township in early December 4 morning, starting around 4 a.m., killing a civilian and injuring three more including a novice monk.
The deceased victim was Mr. Hla Thein Tun (aka) Nyi Nyi (52) from Chilaiphin Village in Sittwe Township. Mr. Aung Kyaw Than (50), also from Chilaiphin Village, and a novice monk and a woman who have fled from Yeyopyin Village in Ponnagyun Township to Chilaiphin Village were injured.
Junta light infantry 344 based in Padalaik, Sittwe Township, intentionally shelled Chilaiphin Village around 4 a.m. on December 4 and two shells landed and exploded in the compounds of Mr. Hla Thein Tun’s house and Mr. Aung Kyaw Than’s house.
As a result of such inhumane shelling, Mr. Hla Thein Tun was killed and Mr. Aung Kyaw Than as well as a novice monk and a woman were injured.
Currently, the injured civilians have been sent to Sittwe Hospital and it is said that Mr. Aung Kyaw Than is in critical condition.
