SAGAING DIVISION – According to the locals, 40 traveller youths were abducted within 24 hours of the conscription act promulgation by the junta council, in Sagaing township, on the morning of February 11.
The locals mentioned that a unit of 60 junta council troops checked the pedestrians between Natkhayaing village and Lelgyi village, and abducted the youth who turned 18, in Sagaing township, on the morning of February 11.
A local mentioned that “they (the junta council troops) forced all of the passenger cars and motorcycles to stop and abducted all of the maidens, bachelors and divorcees who are 18-years-old and above. Around 40 civilians were said to have been abducted.”
The fascist junta council troops also beat up and abducted the civilians who ran away.
A Sagaing local mentioned that “they (the junta council troops) abducted the civilians from all of the vehicles, even dragged from the bus down. Many civilians have been abducted.”
In the afternoon, the fascist junta council troops left the place where they checked the civilians and they took the abductees along with them.
The coup council declared the activation of the conscription act at 8 p.m. on February 10. They started abducting the civilians within 24 hours.
