TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The Tiger Commando (KTLA-tcjf) has issued a cautionary notice urging people to avoid unnecessary travel on the Tongkha-Motaung road during the night hours of Saturday (August 19).
The area has reportedly witnessed military exercises conducted by junta troops, raising the potential for conflict along this route at any given moment. In the interest of public safety, it is strongly advised to refrain from using the road between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Mr. Sai Nyi, Public Information Officer of Tiger Commando, mentioned, “We have noticed increased activity of junta troops on that road, especially during times when they are less visible to the public. They tend to be more active in such circumstances.”
The advisory also suggests that when driving, vehicles should keep windows rolled down and side shields open (unless it’s raining). Furthermore, it was highlighted not to approach military council troops or convoys closely.
Additionally, the People’s Defense Force has requested the public’s cooperation and understanding during security checks, seeking to minimize any inconveniences caused.
Currently, junta troops remain stationed and engaged in activities near Shan Inntaw, Yephyu, and Htonkha villages along the Tanintharyi – Mawtaung road, as well as in the vicinity of the Kawthaung Road segment.
