SAGAING DIVISION – The junta council carried out airstrikes at the IDP monastery in Talai Village on Friday (August 11) at around 4 a.m., killing an eight-month-old child and two women.
The victims were an eight-month-old child, a 23-year-old mother, and a woman over 60 years old; they had fled there from Sint Kai Village. Another 15 civilians were also wounded.
“The junta carried out airstrikes on the Talai Monastery, and civilians from Sint Kai are seeking refuge there,” said Major Lin Yone from Shwebo District Battalion – 18.
Following that, junta troops from Shein Makar Village raided Talai Village at around 8 a.m. and abducted nearly 50 civilians.
On the afternoon of August 10, junta fighter jets frequently flew between Sagaing and Wetlet Townships.
