EU – American and Euro (EU) countries issued joint statement that the junta council’s coup d’etat not only overthrew by force a democratically elected Government but also undermined the country’s a decade development.
The joint statement was said to be released by High Representatives on behalf of the European Union, and the Foreign Ministers of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Norway, Republic of Korea, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States, marking three years since the military coup in Myanmar.
In addition, violence against civilians has escalated with thousands jailed, tortured and killed under the military regime.
During the past (2023) one year period, the junta thugs from the junta council have destroyed over 30,000 houses from countrywide according to the Data for Myanmar Team’s compilation which has been observing the house arsons incidences after the ongoing military coup.
Since from February 01, 2021, until December 31, 2023, 78,737 houses from entire country were set fire to ash and among them, 30,274 houses were destroyed in burn in 2023.
According to the assembled data of United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), over 2.6 million people have been displaced due to the armed conflicts.
