MANDALAY DIVISION – It was reported that two people, including a child, were killed and four others were injured when the junta council opened fire with heavy weapons in Sint Gu township.
On February 25th at about 7 o’clock in the morning, the Junta Council troops, who were arriving at the graduation ceremony of Pyu Saw Htee, which was being held in the village of Sarkyatgyi, Sint Gu Township, installed (120 mm) and (81 mm) heavy weapons and opened fire for no reason.
As a result of the shooting, Wetlet Informational Network said that a 14-year-old boy and a mother of a child were hit in the head and died on the spot, and an 80 year old woman was hit in the leg from Ywataw village in Sint Gu township.
In addition, one resident each from Ywatha village, Hngat Sar village and Thit Seint village in eastern Wetlet township were hit by a heavy weapon and injured.
“There are a lot of shootings. There are also some that fall into the water. They are shooting from the east of the river in Sint Gu. They are shooting because there is a graduation ceremony of Pyu Saw Htee,” said an official of the Scout Ground News Group (Sint Gu).
In addition, some walls of pagodas were also damaged by heavy weapons.
“Pyu Saw Htee militants have been given training for a long time in Htonegyi and Sarkyat areas. We know that there is a graduation ceremony today. Yesterday, a group of military dogs stationed at the village forest school in Chaung Gyi village, Thabeikkyin District came down.”
Sint Gu township is a strong revolutionary region in Mandalay Division. On the morning of February 22nd, a policeman was killed and four others were seriously injured after being attacked by a parcel mine at the military council camp in Thila village.
