MAGWAY DIVISION – Junta council troops torched three houses in Silaung Village, Myaing Township, Pakokku District and an old woman was caught in the flames and died, according to M Daung Ni Force.
The junta arsonists came in four military vehicles from Inpin terminal in Pakokku and then torched the houses in Silaung Village around 3 a.m. on November 3.
70 years old Ms. Tin Kyi was said to have been killed in the flames.
“The lower half of her body was burned while the upper half was left intact. We can’t say if they set fire to the houses despite seeing her or if they didn’t see her. She was staying at the house of her son. Both she and the house were set ablaze,” said Bo. San Shay, the leader of M Daung Ni Force.
Those junta terrorists entered Silaung Village and torched the houses after they were blasted with mines while on their way towards Myaing at around 11 p.m. on November 2, about a mile away from the village.
The leader of M Daung Ni Force added that the junta troops could have picked out particular houses to burn as the houses set on fire were not close to each other.
This is the second time Silaung Village, with around 80 households, was set on fire by junta arsonists after ten houses were burned and destroyed previously in 2022.
