MYANMAR – The terrorist junta regime that had its USD incomes cut off by the sanctions of western nations is reported to have called for a meeting with the petroleum businesses on July 22.
The United States sanctioning the junta council’s Myanmar Foreign Trade Bank (MFTB) and Myanma Investment Commercial Bank (MICB) has damaged the fuel import businesses and the junta council is said to be working to overcome the sanctions by doing things including opening USD accounts in different banks.
The invitation by the junta council asked for compulsory attendance to the coordination meeting regarding the arrangements for the import and distribution of petroleum, led by the chairman of Fuel Import and Distribution Management Committee and Deputy Minister of Finance and Commercial at 10 a.m. on July 22, 2023 at the Yadanar Hall, Office No. 6 in Nay Pyi Taw.
Due to decreasing USD reserves, the terrorist junta regime has been reducing the import of fuel and arresting people working in the foreign currency trade and it is said that further restrictions on the purchase and sale of fuel can be expected.
