KACHIN STATE – The information department of Kachin Independence Army (KIA) issued that KIA and the alliance forces conducted the offensive attacks again to capture the junta council’s infantry battalion 141 near Sinbo town, Myitkyina township, Kachin state, on February 24. Following that, a fierce battle broke out between the fascist junta council troops and the KIA alliance forces.
Starting at around 7 a.m. on February 24, the alliance of KIA and KPDF (Kachin People Defense Force) re-attacked the junta council battalion in the KIA Battalion 5 territory and the two sides engaged in a fierce battle.
The information officer of KIA mentioned that a fighter jet from the junta council’s Myitkyina air force attacked over the place where the battle broke out.
As the fierce battles broke out and the fascist junta council recklessly fired the heavy weapons, the civilians from Sinbo town have been forced to flee to safety since February 24.
A Kachin military news source mentioned on the night of February 24, “it’s true that we have been attacking the junta council’s infantry battalion 141, but we haven’t captured it yet.”
Another military news source mentioned on the morning of February 25 that the battles continue breaking out in Sinbo town.
Starting from February 10, the KIA alliance forces conducted offensive attacks towards Sinbo town and since then, the alliance forces managed to capture the town.
At that time, the revolutionary alliance forces attacked the junta council’s infantry battalion 141 which is located near the town, for the first time. Following that, the battles temporarily calmed down. On February 24, the alliance forces attacked the junta council’s military camp again and they (the revolutionary forces) are trying to capture it.
