SAGAING DIVISION – In Salingyi Township, the junta soldiers opened fire on two men riding motorcycles for allegedly not stopping when flagged down and one of them was killed and the other was injured, said Mr. Sit Nyein, member of the Salingyi Township People’s Administration Body.
“They are pedestrians, the military junta soldiers were inspecting in front of the acid factory and shot them because they did not stop the motorcycles. The junta sentries shot them as they didn’t stop to accept the junta soldiersā inspections,” he added.
It is said that the hidden sentries of the military junta council in front of the acid factory near the copper project area which is north of Salingyi fired five shots at two motorcycles at around 10:00 a.m. on September 5.
As a result of the shooting, 31-year-old Mr. Kyaw Min Tun of Kangonegyi Village was killed and another man was injured in the arm.
The body of the deceased was retrieved from the acid factory yesterday and has been buried.
It is said that the acid factory, where the military council troops were providing security, is a subsidiary factory owned by Myanma Economic Holding Limited (an enterprise of the junta regime) and it is a factory that mainly exports goods to Chinese companies, such as Wang Pao-Yangsi, that have permission to run the copper project.
