MAGWAY DIVISION – According to the People’s Defence Forces in northern Seik Phyu, two local women were killed when the military council soldiers attacked Tham Para Village, Seik Phyu Township, Pakokku District from the air without a fight.
On December 15 at around 4:20 p.m., an F 7 fighter jet from the Magway Air Force and an attack chopper fired at Tham Para Village for 10 minutes.
As a result of the shooting, Ms. May Thingyan (23), and Ms. Yu Nanda (22), were killed while they were fetching water. Ms. Tin San Htwe (49), Ms. Thida Theint (11) and Ma Zin Yamon Tun, a 1.5-year-old toddler, were injured. The post primary school was also hit and damaged.
“That village is not a place where there are defence regiments deployed. And there was no fighting around there. All of this attack was arbitrarily done by the junta council,” said a public information officer from the Northern Seik Phyu People’s Defence Force.
The deceased Ms. May Thingyan left behind a 3-month-old daughter while Ms. Yu Nanda’s daughter, Ma Zin Yamong Tun, and the injured were given medical treatment.
The dead were buried on that evening. In addition, a resident of Tham Para Village said that the villagers are fleeing from the village because they don’t dare to live in the village anymore.
“We dare not enter the village. They are listening to the sound of the plane because they are afraid of being shot from the air once again. As soon as I hear the sound of the plane, I crouch down. I don’t want to see the junta council at all. I want to eradicate it,” he said.
This December, the military council sent military columns towards the villages and air strikes are also being carried out continuously against the villages in the Yaw region such as Ganggaw, Saw, Hiya Lin and Seik Phyu.
On December 13, a junta jet fighter that took off from Tada Oo Airport attacked the area between Seik Phyu Township and Saw Township, damaging some buildings.
