SHAN STATE- The Pa’O National Liberation Army (PNLA) spokesperson, Mr. Khun Reinyan, said that the military council troops are relaunching offensives at Hsihseng Town, Pao region, and the fights go on.
The military council reportedly used tanks, drones, heavy weapons, and aerial attacks to recapture Hsihseng Town, which they had to give up before, Mr. Khun Reinyan stated the current conditions.
“Last night, there were more than 20 rounds of heavy weapons fired towards Hsihseng Town from Seik Khaung Town. The fights went on every day. But it was not going intense all day long. The firefight went on for about an hour in the morning and around 1 or 2 hours in the evening,” Mr. Khun Reinyan stated on March 29.
The fight continues in the town, and the Military Council troops are said to be stationed at Mwaytaw Pagoda in Hsihseng.
“When the military council opened fire in Hsihseng, the famous Mwaytaw Pagoda was destroyed l a lot. Now they are stationing on the pagoda hill and firing heavy weapons towards the town,” said Mr. Khun Reinyan.
At the end of January this year, the PNLA captured Hsihseng town within a few days, and the military council army are re-launching offensives lately to recapture the town.
After the military council army lost Hsihseng, they attacked the town and villages in the Pa’O region with heavy weapons and launched strikes, destroying many buildings. In addition to Hsihseng, some villages in Pin Laung and Nyaung Shwe were attacked by the military council without ongoing fights. Many civilians’ homes and religious buildings were destroyed, as mentioned by the PNLA.
