MAGWAY DIVISION – Junta forces checked for guest registration at three villages in Saw Township, Gangaw District around 8 a.m. on August 31, reported the locals.
Junta forces from GE Gate inside Kyaukhtu Artillery Battalion, led by Deputy Battalion Commander Ye Mhan Win, in three groups, carried out inspections at the villages of Myopauk, Natye and Paukkhaung in Saw, while asking for form 10 and checking if there were extra persons at houses they find suspicious.
“They even entered the house. Besides checking for guest registration, they also inspected the motorcycles on the streets. We haven’t heard of anyone getting detained for today (August 31) but it is said that a father and son from Kyaukhtu were taken away the previous day, accused of supporting PDF,” said a Saw resident.
It’s said that there were 30 junta forces at Myopauk Village, 40 at Natye Village and 20 at Paukkhaung Village and the three villages are only about a furlough away from each other.
This is the first time junta carried out inspections in these villages. Nearby villages have also been advised to be cautious as they might be visited by junta forces without notice.
Those junta forces had blocked off the roads at the entrance of Kyaukhtu such as Minkye-Kyaukhtu Road, Natye-Kyaukhtu Road, Old Airport Junction and Pansan-Kyaukhtu Road on August 30 and conducted inspections.
