MAGWAY DIVISION – The terrorist army bombarded a monastery of Ahkyipanpalun Village without any battle, injuring more than 30 people, including a monk, locals reported.
On May 9, at about 10:30 a.m., the terrorist army shelled bombs using a jet fighter towards the monastery while a meeting was on going between the vehicles’ owners on transportation arrangement in the region.
“The fighter jet hovered about 3 times above the monastery and bombed straight on it. There was no clash. They shelled for no reason and it was very strong. It fell directly on the monastery and the monastery collapsed and burned. There are a lot of casualties. A group of doctors also went there to check. Some people are also visiting the clinics arranged by revolutionary comrades,” a local resident explained.
The local resident added that many people were injured due to the bombardment, and rescuing the injured people and clearing up the collapsed monastery is still ongoing. The exact number of casualties is not yet known.
