BAGO DIVISION – The terrorist junta council conducted air strikes and artillery attacks against Zayatkyi Town in Htan Ta Pin Township from February 7 to 8, killing ten civilians, including three children and injuring more than 50 people, according to the local residents. In addition, it is said that there were civilians trapped in the town and the junta terrorists set several houses on fire.
“Three girls: one daughter of Ms. Nang Kyarhe and two daughters of Mr. Soe Thu were killed in the junta council’s bombardment on Kyonepa Quarter,” said a local.
In addition, children and elderly people were reported to be stuck in Thapyaykwin Village and numerous civilians were forced to flee to safety.
“The junta soldiers started to burn down Zayatkyi and children and elderly people can’t escape. There are about 50 injured children and elderly people. The charity organizations are trying to help them but since the town is close to Taungoo airport, there is continuous bombardment by junta air force,” explained a resident.
The terrorist junta council soldiers are targeting the civilian places after at least six of their camps in Zayatkyi were attacked by the revolutionary forces.
