SAGAING DIVISION – A total of six people from two families who ran away from the junta subordinate Pyu Saw Htee militia ruled Zeephyukone Village in Pale Township on February 14 were said to have taken shelter under Pale Township People’s Administration Body (PAB), according to the PAB.
The two families consisting of four children escaped from the Pyu Saw Htee base and contacted the PAB, requesting for shelter and were scrutinized as necessary and are being kept in good condition.
“They have been in contact with the previous families who ran away (from the Pyu Saw Htee village). There wasn’t any one who had caused troubles for the people. We asked them necessary questions and are taking care of them,” said Mr. Zaw Htet, the person in charge of Pale PAB.
Their identities however were not shared to avoid potential security risks.
He explained that the two families had made contact with former escapees and ran away from Zeephyukone Village which is stationed by junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militia as it has become extremely difficult to earn a living in the village and the loss of freedom.
The escapees from Zeephyukone Village are known to have signed undertakings promising not to contact or report to the junta council and Pyu Saw Htee militia, harm the revolutionary forces in some way or work as spys or informers for the junta regime and that they understand of the consequences of they fail to comply.
The Pale Township PAB and the township humanitarian officer are said to have provided the escapee families 60,000 MMK and a rainproof sheet per family as well as several clothes after the family signed the undertaking.
Up to 27 people had ran away from Zeephyukone Village in the three years of the military coup and they are currently said to be living in a safe location.
