BAGO DIVISION- According to the Karen National Union (KNU) central, the villages in Nyaunglaypin (Khelal Loui Htoo) District were bombarded and attacked with heavy weapons by the terrorist army. A local was killed and 4 others were reportedly injured.
On December 29, from 3:39 p.m. to 5:24 p.m., the terrorist army jet fighters and military helicopters dropped 27 bombs on Thaekaw village Penwegone town and fired at least 5 times with Oley Guns.
On December 30, from 10:27 a.m. until 10:35 a.m., the air forces of the terrorist army dropped 2 bombs in Natthankwin Town with jets and fired about 3 times with Oley Guns. A few minutes later, (around 10:40 to 10:44 a.m.) two more bombs were dropped along Thaekaw Village, Penwegone, and three more aerial bombs were dropped at Natthankwin Town between 12:47 to 12:55 p.m. on December 30.
As a result of the air attack, 54-year-old Mr. Zaw Min from Takhuntaing village, 7-year-old girl Pyae Sone Pwint, 4-year-old girl Mi Hanni and 1-year-old child Phu Phu were injured, and 30-year-old Ms. Bel Uma was reportedly killed.
On New Year’s eve (December 31) Between 10:27 and 10:35 a.m., the Junta army dropped 2 bombs at Natthankwin Town with a jet fighter and fired about 3 times with an Oley gun. In addition, from 12:47 p.m. to 5:33 p.m., the terrorist army’s jet fighters and helicopters dropped 23 bombs, damaging Seinpan Monastery and a gas station in Natthankwin Town.
Since the junta army is constantly carrying out airstrikes and heavy weapons attacks targeting the public in Natthankwin, Penwegone Town, and nearby places, causalities reports have risen and damages to public buildings and religious buildings have increased day by day. Due to security difficulties, there were challenges in collecting the exact list of causalities and destruction, stated the KNU central.
