MYANMAR – The Karen National Union (KNU) Central announced that civilian houses were destroyed when the terrorist junta council bombed the villages in Nyaunglebin District, Bago Division and that seven civilians were injured due to landmines planted by the junta council.
On April 22, four houses were destroyed in Padarkaw Village and more houses were destroyed in Bawkahtar Village due to junta aerial bombings.
In addition, on April 8, 11, 12, 14, 24 and 25, Mr. Win Naing from Saw Ti Village, Mr. Zaw Min Htwe and Mr. Saw Tar Si from Yelal (Bamar) Village, Mr. Saw Doe Do Htoo from Nhoku Village, Mr. Myint Aye from Anyarsu Village, Mr. Saw Se Nay Kaw from Nhokalaw Village and Mr. Saw Maw Taw Htoo from Nhotawtar Village stepped on the landmines planted by the junta council and were seriously injured.
Moreover in Mon State, infantry battalion 9 of the terrorist junta council fired three heavy artillery shells into the villages in Danu Area of Tathon Township at around 11 p.m. on April 22. One of the shells landed and exploded in Mayan Village and the house of Mr. Yarhu was damaged by shrapnel. Similarly, a Y12 plane of the junta council bombed the villages in Hpaan Township, dropping 17 bombs between 8:30 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. on April 20, injuring two civilians: 12 year old Naw Chae Mu and 85 year old Phee Pan Pu from Htinu Village.
The junta council’s Peinaetaw base fired four shells into the villages in Minlwin Area of Tathon Township on April 18, destroying two cars and injuring a civilian.
