TANINTHAYI DIVISION – There have been at least 48 clashes between the military council and the People’s Defense Forces in Tanintharyi during the past month.
In the fighting that took place from June 1st to the 30th, there were at least 66 dead and at least 67 wounded on the side of the Junta Council’s Army and Pyu Saw Htee members. On the side of the People’s Defense Forces, during the battle, 6 comrades lost their lives and at least 2 were injured due to the heavy weapons accident and negligence during military preparations.
This information is based on the statements of the relevant public defense forces. It was compiled from the list of reports from local residents. On the ground, the number of people affected by the fighting may be higher.
In June there were remarkable incidents. An increase in the number of drone attacks on police stations in Dawei District, and a series of attacks on military council vehicles on the Ye Phyu – Klain Aung road.
Last May, there were at least 49 skirmishes in Tanintharyi, and 60 of the military council soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee were killed and 65 wounded.
