CHIN STATE – Chin Defence Force (CDF) – Kanpetlet issued a statement dated October 19 saying that except for the responsible person who have been assigned by CDF Kanpetlet battalion 3 Tumee battalion, for the other people not to trade the ammunition and not to keep in hand the ammunition in the CDF territory.
It was known that they issued the statement with the intention for the stability and to protect the lives and the properties of the civilians.
“The first point is that some of the civilians were abducted by the junta council while they were passing through the junta council’s checkpoint as they (the civilians) carried the military ammunition in their pockets. The other point is that CDF worries there will be unwanted problems in the future if the civilians keep the military ammunition which is unknown from where or how they get it, in their hands. So, CDF issued a statement like this,” said the commanding officer of CDF Kanpetlet battalion 3.
It was also stated in the statement that the prohibited ammunition are automatic rifles, bullets and improvised explosive devices. If CDF discovered, except for the responsible person, that someone was trading those ammunition and kept those in their hands, CDF would take action against them.
It has been reported that the frequent skirmishes between the revolutionary forces and the fascist junta council troops have broken out around the operation area of CDF-Kanpetlet.
