KACHIN STATE – A junta lance corporal who surrendered in battle was delivered to his chosen destination, announced Myohla Kachin People’s Defence Force (KPDF) on Tuesday (September 5).
The junta soldier surrendered to the PDF at the September 1 battle where the PDF attacked and captured the junta outpost at Kyaukkyi Village in Shwegu Township.
“As we prioritise the peace of the people, we sent him to a place he picked as per the freedom to live,” stated Myohla KPDF.
Said lance corporal is reported to have attempted to flee from the army when he was deployed to junta division 77 in Magway Division but was recaptured then imprisoned for three months.
Myohla KPDF also mentioned that they will have a warm welcome to the junta council members who can differentiate right from wrong and are looking to join the side of the people.
Myohla KPDF attacked the junta troops from infantry battalion 77 under division 88, that were stationed at Kyaukkyi Village on September 1. Five junta troops were killed and six were injured in that battle where a large number of weapons and ammunition were seized, according to Myohla KPDF.
