MAGWAY DIVISION – A PDF soldier was killed when the barrel of a self-made motor gunfire burst open during the battle near Kaingtawma Police Station.
On August 27, around 5:30 p.m., junta troops from the 101 Division and joint People’s Defence Forces had an exchange of fire near Kaingtawma Police Station in Myaing Township.
On that day, the barrel of the (self-produced) motor gun, that was cover-firing for the retreating PDFs, exploded and killed the 19-year-old Pakokku Underground Force member Kyaw Thu Aung (aka Snake) who was recording the video nearby.
Comrade Kyaw Thu Aung was the first comrade to die in the Pakokku Underground Force. His funeral was held at 12:30 noon on August 28, but his family members could not attend it due to security reasons.
During his mourning period, the force has not yet given any kind of support to the family members but will do so later, stated Pakokku Underground Force.
In more than two years of the revolution period, most of the local defence forces are still using self-produced weapons and still facing difficulties with ammunition.
Most of the comrades who died in the battle in the Sagaing Division were injured and killed because of poor quality hand-made long-range motors (and rifles).
