BAGO DIVISION – An official from the Brave Warriors For Myanmar (BWM) group said that the military council’s Taungoo air base, which was carrying out airstrikes against the people, was attacked with ten 107 mm short range missiles.
On May 10th, at 4:15 in the morning, ten 107 mm short range missiles were fired into Taungoo Air Force Base, and seven of them successfully hit the target.
“After the first 5 missiles were fired, the war dogs counter-attacked with two heavy weapons immediately. We fired 5 more shots and retreated. Along the way, the war dogs were shelling with heavy weapons. They also searched for the shooters by planes. But all the comrades were able to come out safely,” said a BWM official.
The operation was managed by the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) team and joined by Mountain Knights Civilian Defense Force (MKCDF) team, Northern Than Daung Special Area Team, Fighter Sar Kae Team and the number 31 military region party soldiers.
The BWM team announced that “recently, in response to the brutality of the Junta Council Air Force, which attacked children and people in various areas of Myanmar, including Khone Thar village in Karenni region and Akyi Pan Pa Loon village Monastery, Kyauktu prefecture, Saw township, our BWM team, led by MKCDF, carried out a joint attack with partner groups.”
Taungoo Air Base is mainly used for air attacks against the people and revolutionary forces in the Karenni region and Karen State.
“We, MKCDF, have taken the counter-attack of the terrorist air force as an important process to achieve the success of the revolution. As we continue to implement the anti-terrorist air force mission, today we fired 107 mm short range missiles against the Taungoo Air Force, which is mainly relied by the Terrorist War Council.” MKCDF has been released.
MKCDF said that they had been preparing for the above operation for more than a month and it was raining in that morning, so the operation was difficult.
In addition, the military council returned fire with heavy weapons, and the BWM official said that all the crew members have reached a safe place.
It said the damage to the mission is still being investigated in detail.
BWM and MKCDF attacked the Taungoo Air Force for the second time this year. On March 14th, three members of the junta council were killed when they attacked with short range missiles.
On April 11th, a 107-mm short range missile was fired at the Ayela Air Force base, and a total of 17, including 5 Air Force officers and 12 soldiers were killed and 12 were injured as a result of this attack, a BMW official said.
It is stated in the statements that they will continue to attack the military council air bases that are conducting airstrikes.
