SHAN STATE – A junta military vehicle heading along Hopong- Loilen Road was said to hit and run over a Pa-O farmer returning from the farm while he was waiting to cross through the road from Ywar Thit (Maukkahtam) Village by riding the motorbike near Htam Sam Cave, Hopong Township, Shan (South) State on June 15 at around 1 p.m.
“He had worked as a farmer. He even carried pesticide spraying bottle with him to spray after cultivating crops. They didn’t even stop for a while after being hit by their vehicle. They just drove away continuously. He died on the spot,” an acquaintance with the family member of being hit by the junta military vehicle.
The victim is known to be Mr. Maw Law (50) and he reportedly died on the spot after being hit by the junta military vehicle heading from Taunggyi while he was returning his home in Ywar Thit Village from the farm.
Furthermore, the junta council is said to give 0.5 million MMK as a contribution for the funeral and force the family member to reach the settlement on the seventh day after his death funeral.
