TANINTHARYI DIVISION – It has been reported that junta troops carried out airstrikes on the civilian villages starting Monday (March 4) morning after they suffered defeats within battles in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Division.
The People’s Defence Force (PDF) members said that the junta air force bombed near Haindarpyin Village and Myittar Town in Ashaytaw Area of Dawei Township using one jet fighter and one helicopter on March 4 around 10 a.m.
A PDF member said that “they (the junta council) targeted the civilians because they were defeated in the previous battles. We still don’t know the damages on the ground. They were doing airstrikes heavily.”
The People’s Defence Force, on February 21, blocked and attacked a junta column of 17 military cars and around 300 forces in Ashaytaw region which is being bombarded by junta airstrikes now.
On that day, there were battles the whole day on the Dawei-Hteekhee road between Wakone Village and Kyaukmaetaung Village. Six junta cars were destroyed and more than 20 junta forces were killed.
During that battle, the junta council bombed twice via a MI-2 helicopter.
It was also reported that the allied PDF forces captured the junta camp near Yaungmaw Village in Dawei Township on March 2.
The Southern Military Region released that 11 junta forces were killed and a lot of arsenals were seized in that battle.
They also released that the united revolutionary forces will increase attacks on junta bases in Tanintharyi Division and they will make it so there is no safe place for the junta council.
