TANINTHARYI DIVISION – In Dawei Township, a civilian, Mr. Kyaw Thura, was abducted by the junta troops and killed during interrogation, and his body was also destroyed, according to people close to the family.
On May 15, in Dawei Township, the junta forces ensnared by calling Mr. Kyaw Thura, a resident of Daung Ngu Ward, to come out near the Uttagyi Road intersection in the center of the city, then captured him.
After that, on May 20, the junta-appointed administrator of Daung Ngu Ward informed Mr. Kyaw Thura’s parents that he had died during the interrogation. Mr. Kyaw Thura’s body was also destroyed without being returned to the family. On May 17, the terrorist junta council abducted eight more residents of Daung Ngu Ward.
“There was no information of where the body was buried. The cemetery stated that the body was not sent there. His family wants the body back. They have not seen him since he was taken away,” said a person close to the family.
Mr. Kyaw Thura, who was killed during interrogation by the terrorist junta council, is said to have left behind a wife and a 15-year-old daughter.
