TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Five orchardist from Ashaytaw region, Dawei Township who have been abducted as human shields by the terrorist junta council soldiers were released on Friday (December 22), according to the locals.
A 60-strong junta column raided the vicinity of Heindar Village on December 19 and abducted five orchardists nearby as human shields.
It was informed by a local that the five abductees were released on Friday afternoon (December 22) by the junta column on their way back from Pakari Village.
He added that the five victims were sent back in a car that reaches their village.
The above-mentioned junta column raided along the forest lane for three days after abducting the five villagers.
Nonetheless, two Kyaukme Taung villagers, who were reportedly abducted more than five days ago, haven’t been released.
Two junta columns combined on December 22 and there was a shooting on the junta column’s way back from Pakari Village at about 4 p.m. on the same day, according to members of People’s Defence Force.
There has also been an abduct incident on December 14, when the junta council soldiers penetrated Kyaukseik Kone Village, Yephyu Township. The victim was Mr. Ayeshar and was released after six days on December 20.
The junta council forces have been committing crimes such as arsons, abducting and using innocent people as human shields and offensives against civilian villages in Tanintharyi Division as well as nationwide.
