SAGAING DIVISION – The Ministry of Women, Youth and Children of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that the Township Humanitarian Officer and the Women Youth and Children Officer visited and provided the necessary support to the pregnant women fleeing the war, disabled and children under 2 years of age from Tigyaing and PinlebuTownships in Sagaing Region.
By the guidance of the National Unity Government, with the support of the Ministry of Women’s Youth and Children’s Affairs, on October 4, the support was carried out on the ground. The statement did not reveal any information on what aid was provided.
In addition, while carrying out field trips to villages in the township, they met with local residents and distributed mine safety awareness pamphlets and students were given stationeries.
It was also announced that the NUG’s officers gave a lecture on the do’s and don’ts during the junta council’s offensive. Junta council troops entered the townships of the Sagaing region, including Tigyaing township, and burned the villages, abducted, tortured and killed civilians, causing many local residents flee the war.
