SAGAING DIVISION: The junta’s army reportedly launched the airstrike to Waegyi village, Tawna village tract, Tigyaing township, Sagaing division, which caused the deaths of three civilians and three to get wounded, as said by Tigyaing Township People’s Administration Body.
The junta’s plane taking off from Tada-U airport around 11 a.m. on January 3 reportedly launched the airstrike to the centre of Waegyi village, resulting in 5 houses to be destroyed and a woman and a man to be killed.
“Without any battles in the region, the centre of the village where the innocent civilians reside were attacked with dropped bombs,” as said by the responsible person of People’s Administration Body.
Waegyi village is 8 miles away from Tigyaing. The junta’s council is known to be launching the airstrike, targeting the civilians around Tigyaing township.
On November 10, 2023, the members of the People’s Defence Forces attempted to capture Tigyaing but the attempt was not successful and the revolutionary forces retreated.
Though the members of the People’s Defence Forces have paused the battles over a month but the junta’s forces are launching the airstrikes to the town daily and have reinforced their troops, as said by the local people.
Since the battles to capture the town on November 10, the daily Junta’s airstrikes are known to have killed about 150 civilians including the children and the elderly people.
