SAGAING DIVISION – Revolutionary Forces reported on December 20 that the murderous junta carried out over 150 airstrike attacks on Tigyaing Town during 41 days of Tigyaing Town capturing battle, from November 8 to December 19.
The airstrike attacks were carried out by junta jet fighters and Mi-35 attack helicopters from Myitkyina airbase, Tada-U airbase and North Western Command (NWC) based in Monywa Town, according to Tigying Revolution -TR.
In addition, it was reported that the MI-17 support helicopter and MI-2 helicopters from Monywa based NWC, delivered ammunition, weapons and ration supplies to Mya Taung Village and Nickel factories at least six times.
It is said that the most used jet fighters were the YAK 130, K8W, and A5 types.
The residents said that there are five residential wards in Tigyaing Town and many of the civilian houses of these wards as well as the surrounding villages have been demolished due to the junta airstrikes.
There were fierce fights in Tigyaing Town on December 19, and the terrorist junta bombarded 12 bombs, including two 500 pound bombs with its six jet fighters over the town, according to the People’s Defense Support Comrades.
Kachin Independence Army (KIA), Arakan Army (AA), All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF) and People’s Defence Forces (PDFs) have been combating the junta bases in Tigyaing Town since November 8.
Residents had been forced to run away to nearby villages and some towns.
It was reported that the terrorist junta army had built and stationed in the firm bunkers at Mya Thein Tan Mountain Camp in Tigyaing Town, and they did not come out of the bunker, but the junta air force carried out airstrike attacks daily.
ABSDF also stated that the genocidal junta used chemical weapons during the fights on December 15.
