MAGWAY DIVISION – The junta gunship carried out airstrikes at Sin Htoe Village, Kyin Village Tract, Htilin Township on Tuesday (June 6) at around 3 p.m., destroying civilians’ houses and forcing the civilians to flee.
Mi-35 helicopters from the Monywa Headquarters dropped bombs for half an hour without engaging in battle. The junta airstrikes destroyed two civilians’ houses, and over 30 shells were dropped in the field from the east of the village, said Sayar Kyaw, an official of Htilin PDF.
“The junta gunship dropped bombs and fired while it was at the east of the village’s field. Fortunately, our civilians didn’t have any casualties. They also used a machine gun, and two houses in the village lost their shops, roofs, and cupboards. One car’s body and wheels were also affected. Two mobile phones were damaged as well,” he said.
After the attack, the junta gunship returned to Monywa, but the civilians are afraid that the junta might come back. That’s why the Township Public Administration Body – PAB also supported the civilians in finding a safe place, said Sayar Kyaw.
The junta informant sent the wrong information to the junta council when the civilians gathered at the village, according to PDF comrades.
On April 20, the junta carried out airstrikes on the Yaw Revolution Army (YRA) in Htilin Township, burning down the entire building and killing two male comrades and one female comrade, said an official of YRA.
