SAGAING DIVISION- Ye U-based People’s Defense Comrade’s Information Officer, Htoo Khant Zaw (Mother’s Son), told the media that more than 5,000 people from more than 15 villages had to flee as the junta army entered the border between Depayin and Ye U Townships.
On February 14, the junta troops raided Ngaweltaw village near the border of Depayin and Ye U Township, opening gunfire, and the villagers had to flee to safety.
At present, more than 5,000 locals from the villages between Depayin and Ye U, such as Tawkyaung, Inntan, Warpa, Mhanthar, Nyein Chan, Yintwe, Pyaw Bwe, Aung Chanthar, Pinsi, Khun Taung, Shaw Phyu, Chaung Yoe, Masoeyein, Chone Village, Kyigone, and Ngaweltaw Villages, have fled to safety.
“This morning, a column of military (bulldogs) is coming towards the northwest of Depayin. They are currently stationed in Ngaweltaw village in the western part of Ye U town” said Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw, in charge of information of Ye U People’s Defense Comrade.
On February 13, the terrorist military column entered Depayin from Ye U Township and they returned to the Ye U- Depayin border area the next morning (February 14).
